ArtLab852 Artist Statement: 

This collaborative piece with Dickie has been a very reflective process. We seldom see the inner-self of people, what was the person in the composition experiencing? Through the photography of Dickie and my painted additions, triggering the reflections of the people of Hong Kong. 

In this particular piece of photography by Dickie, a spray-painted halftone graphic of Themis, Goddess of Justice, on the wall was placed above Article 27 of the Hong Kong Basic Law, a young man is walking past... Expressing a time, an era where people doubted the symbol guarding the rights of freedom of speech. Whilst the article remains solid, the symbol of justice seems fleeting. The composition provokes the audience to reflect on their thoughts.
